His Song Of Grace

In honor of World Poetry Day, which is today, I post this poem that I wrote. I hope you enjoy it, and it gives you encouragement in these troubling times. To remember that our God and his son Jesus, love and care for us, is a song that should echo in every heart.

His Song Of Grace

by Lesa L. Hanners

It was his love that made the plan, to save the fallen souls of man,
it was his love that made the sacrifice for me.
It was his love that came to earth, his form in time the virgin birth,
from Bethlehem, to Nazareth in Galilee.

It was his blood on calvary, his sacrifice that set me free.
No other gift of grace could any other give.
It was his blood that saved my soul, his blood that cleansed and made me whole,
this is the song that through the ages I will sing.

Chorus:
The song of grace and grace alone, he sits triumphant on his throne.
The choirs of heaven have united and I sing.
He is the God of all the earth, of universe and heavens birth,
he is the Lord of all creation he is king!

Thus will I sing amazing grace, until I look upon his face,
he gave his life, he gave his all upon the tree.
His blood has covered all my sin, that by his grace I live again,
he is my life, he is my joy, he is my song.

He rose again he conquered death, he took again his living breath,
the keys of hell and of the grave belong to him.
He lives today within my heart, nor shall he ever there depart,
this is his promise and his hope, this is his song.

Chorus:
The song of grace and grace alone, he sits triumphant on his throne,
the choirs of heaven have united and I sing.
He is the God of all the earth, of universe and heavens birth,
he is the Lord of all creation he is king!
